At present, my country's train traction methods include steam locomotive traction, diesel locomotive traction and electric locomotive. Railways that use electric locomotives to traction trains are called electrified railways. Electric traction has the characteristics of high horsepower, fast speed, low energy consumption and high efficiency. In the section using electric traction, the transportation capacity is significantly improved and the transportation cost is greatly reduced. At the same time, the locomotive performance and working conditions are better than that of the diesel locomotive. It is the future development direction of my country's railway traction power.
Below are some facilities that require thermal imaging camera inspections.
1. Various electrical devices: Loose joints or poor contacts, unbalanced loads, overloads, overheating and other hidden dangers can be found. The potential effects that these hidden dangers may cause are arcing, short circuit, burning, and fire. Their average repair cost is 10,000 to 50,000 yuan; replacement costs 80,000 to 100,000 yuan, and the construction period is several weeks to several months.
2. Transformer: Hidden problems that can be discovered include loose joints, overheated bushings, poor contact (tap changer), overload, unbalanced three-phase load, and blocked cooling pipes. The effects include arcing, short circuit, burning, and fire. Rewinding costs tens of thousands of dollars, replacement costs hundreds of thousands of dollars, and the construction period is weeks or months.
3. Motors and generators: Hidden dangers that can be discovered are excessive bearing temperature, unbalanced load, short circuit or open circuit of windings, heating of carbon brushes, slip rings and collector rings, overload and overheating, and blocked cooling pipes. The impact is that a defective bearing can cause damage to the iron core or winding coil, and a defective carbon brush can damage the slip ring and collector ring, thereby damaging the winding coil. It may also cause damage to the drive target. It costs tens of thousands of yuan to rewind a motor (5,000 horsepower) and hundreds of thousands of yuan to replace it, and the construction period is several weeks to several months.
4. Various transmission equipment, such as transmissions, traction machinery, etc.
For all equipment with direct visibility, thermal imaging cameras are able to identify thermal hazards at all connection points. For parts that cannot be directly seen due to shielding, thermal hazards can be discovered based on the conduction of heat to external components. Comparison: Traditionally, there is no other way to perform operational testing of circuit breakers, conductors, busbars and other components other than disassembly inspection and cleaning of joints.
