Application of infrared thermometers in glass processing and manufacturing
With 40 years of experience manufacturing infrared thermometers for industrial glass environments, Raytek is dedicated to providing the glass industry with products specifically designed to monitor and control every part of the glass production line. Raytek infrared thermometers can be used to measure the temperature of furnaces, glass in furnaces, melting tanks, regenerators, clarifiers, forehearths, gobs, molds, float lines and annealing furnaces, as well as cooling and coating areas .
Furnaces - The use of Raytech probes to monitor the corrosion of checker bricks and refractory materials is crucial to scheduling hot and cold repairs as planned, and to avoid the costly emergency shutdown of the furnace.
Flat Glass - Annealing furnaces have multiple temperature control zones with probes mounted on each zone to ensure accurate edge-to-edge glass temperature uniformity and a flat glass surface.
Bottles and Containers - Maintaining the proper temperature of the molten glass in the forehearth to ensure proper uniformity of glass at the outlet.
Glass fiber - The temperature of each section of the forehearth is monitored and controlled by infrared fiber optic probes to keep the glass entering the fiberizer at the optimal temperature.
advantage:
- Improve output and yield
- Improve process control
- Improve product consistency
- improve product quality
- Reduce downtime
