Application of Stereomicroscope in Welding Quality Inspection

With the continuous development of welding processes and the advancement of welding technologies, requirements for welding quality across various industries have become increasingly stringent. Affected by the 2008 financial crisis, industrial upgrading became urgent. Welding quality inspection plays a vital role in the industrial upgrading of the machinery manufacturing sector. Against this backdrop, Guangzhou Mingmei, a professional supplier of digital microscopes and digital imaging systems, has developed a welding quality inspection system complying with industry standards (HB5282-1984 Quality Inspection of Resistance Spot Welds and Seam Welds for Structural Steel and Stainless Steel; HB5276-1984 Quality Inspection of Resistance Spot Welds and Seam Welds for Aluminum Alloys).

This welding quality inspection system is equipped with units for sample weld cutting, pre-grinding, polishing and chemical treatment, a microscopic imaging system (MSHOT digital microscope ME61), and a planar image measurement system (Mingmei image processing software). The microscopic imaging system can be optionally fitted with an imported Olympus microscope main unit, together with a 5-megapixel or 9-megapixel digital imaging system. The system supports imaging, editing, measurement, data export and report printing for the fusion zone of butt, lap, fillet and T-joint welds on welded workpieces.

The two micrographs below show the microscopic results obtained by our company through actual cutting, shooting and measurement of products for a customer in Danjiangkou using this welding quality inspection system:

From the two micrographs above, you can clearly identify the outstanding advantages of this system over similar products: sharp imaging, high contrast and high measurement accuracy.
