Are your commonly used methods of operating metallographic microscopes correct?

A metallographic microscope can easily observe metallographic images on a computer, so that metallographic patterns can be analyzed, graded, etc. and the pictures can be output and printed. Metallurgical microscope electronic eyepieces are suitable for shooting with any standard biological, stereoscopic, and metallographic microscopes. They can be widely used in medical and health institutions, laboratories, research institutes, and colleges and universities for biology, pathology, and bacteriology observation and teaching. and research, clinical experiments and routine medical inspections; analysis and identification of materials in factories and laboratories. The use of metallographic microscopes is becoming more and more widespread, and there are more and more operating methods. However, many newcomers will be misled by some operating methods. Let's talk about the misunderstandings in operating metallographic microscopes.

Misunderstandings in operating metallographic microscopes:
1. Place the microscope next to the sink or window in the laboratory. Moisture and dust are the killers of the microscope. The wrong placement method and location will greatly shorten the service life of the microscope.

2. Beginners of microscopes have little understanding of its basic principles and structure. Rough manipulation can also be fatal to the vulnerability of the microscope. For example: moving it frequently, using too much force when picking up and placing it, using force to raise and lower the focusing system when adjusting the focus, failing to adjust the focus and interpupillary distance correctly, etc.

3. The working distance of high-magnification lenses is usually very short, and improper operation can damage the high-magnification lenses. For example: some operators do not wipe the 100X oil lens clean or do not wipe it after use, which is a bad usage habit.

4. When changing the objective lens, operators often rotate the objective lens directly. Little do they know that this operation will affect the coaxiality and parfocality of the optical axis. The correct way to use it is to turn the nosepiece to get the desired observation objective.

5. If you open the condenser or field diaphragm too large or too small, and adjust its position too high or too low, you will not be able to obtain microscopic images with excellent resolution and sharpness.

The metallographic microscope is a high-precision investigation instrument that is frequently used, so the maintenance of the instrument is also a top priority. Mirror oil is very important in the maintenance of metallographic microscopes. Let's talk about the selection and use of mirror oil.

In the maintenance of microscopes, the selection of oil is very important for microscopes. Cedar oil is commonly used, but the effect of cedar oil is not very good, so many microscope manufacturers began to produce and use another non-resinous composition. Oiled. It can provide a non-resinous synthetic immersion oil with a refractive index of 1.515-1.518 and suitable dispersion characteristics. Due to its excellent characteristics and suitability for high-quality oil immersion work, it has gradually replaced the above two. A resinous impregnated oil.

When dripping lens oil, usually after the observation is completed, even if non-resinous immersion oil is used, the objective lens and cover glass must be carefully cleaned. First, use clean lens cleaning paper or dry cloth to wipe off the immersion oil. , and then wipe away the remaining immersion oil with lens paper or cloth dipped in xylene or gasoline. If collector hydration is used, the top of the collector and the surface under the slide should also be cleaned.

When using immersion oil, you should also be careful not to mix fresh immersion oil into immersion oil that has been left for a long time. Otherwise, dark lines will be formed and the quality of the metallographic microscope imaging will be significantly affected.
