Can a clamp ammeter measure small currents?
Measuring current with a clamp meter has the advantage of measuring without cutting off the circuit, but due to its low accuracy, the measurement error is large.
Especially when measuring the current less than 5A, the error will far exceed the allowable range.
In order to make up for this defect of the clamp meter, when actually measuring a small current, the method is to wrap the tested wire a few times first, and then put it into the jaw of the clamp meter for measurement.
However, the current value indicated by the clamp meter at this time is not the actual value measured. The actual current value should be the reading of the clamp meter divided by the number of turns of the wire.
