Common Fault Analysis and Troubleshooting Methods for Gas Detectors

 

During the use of the gas detector, it is inevitable that it will malfunction. Below are some simple examples of troubleshooting methods. Of course, in the event of an instrument malfunction, the first step is to ensure that the sampling system is in good condition, ensuring that the filter and other gas circuits are not blocked, there is no condensate, and the gas circuit is correctly connected and has the correct flow rate. Then inspect the detector and related equipment to see if they are loose or if their power or pipeline connections are disconnected. The following fault analysis points are expected to be helpful to users.


1. During operation, the displayed value is stuck on the screen, and adjusting the zero position of the potentiometer does not work: the connector has poor contact or the wiring terminal is not properly connected, check and eliminate it, and replace the connector if necessary; If there is an open circuit, short circuit or poor release of the measuring bridge, identify and eliminate it. If there is a problem with the bridge arm in the ring chamber, it needs to be sent to the manufacturer for repair.


2. The heating indicator light on the front panel of the gas detector does not light up for a long time: the heating plate is open, check the heating plate and its terminals, and eliminate poor contact. If the heating plate has an internal open circuit, replace it; The heating indicator light is damaged, replace it; The temperature control platinum resistor is open circuit, check if the terminal is reliable. If there is an internal open circuit in the platinum resistor, replace it; The wiring of the terminal connected to the heating plate is loose, and tighten the terminal screws.


3. Instrument display is unstable: the working current of the measuring bridge is unstable. Check whether the voltage of the A and B test terminals on the power supply and signal amplification board is stable at a certain value between 1.2V and 1.3V. If it is unstable, replace N2 (3173 terminal adjustable voltage regulator block); The voltage of the operational amplifier power supply is abnormal. Check if the 12V voltage is stable. If it is not normal, replace the damaged components; If there is poor contact on the measuring bridge or related terminals, check for any faulty soldering or poor contact on the relevant components. If not, eliminate it. If necessary, replace the components.


4. After turning on the power, the digital display meter of the gas detector shows no display: the power switch is faulty, replace the power switch; The power fuse is blown, replace the fuse; If the microcomputer power supply system is faulty, tighten the terminal screws; The microcomputer system is malfunctioning, please send it to the manufacturer for maintenance.
