Common Problems and Solutions of Stereomicroscopes

① Blurry or dirty field of view: Contamination may exist on the specimen, eyepiece surface, objective lens surface or work plate surface. Clean the specimen, eyepiece, objective lens and work plate surface according to actual conditions.

② Non-overlapping dual images: This may result from incorrect interpupillary distance adjustment. Adjust the interpupillary distance properly. It may also be caused by improper diopter adjustment; readjust the diopter. Another possible cause is mismatched magnification of the left and right eyepieces. Inspect the eyepieces and reinstall eyepieces with identical magnification.

③ Unclear image: Dirt on the objective lens surface may be the cause. Clean the objective lens.

④ Unclear image during zooming: It may be caused by improper diopter adjustment and focusing. Readjust the diopter and focus.

⑤ Frequent bulb burnout and flickering light: The possible causes include excessively high mains voltage, a failing bulb or poor wire connections. Carefully check whether the voltage and wiring connections of the microscope are secure. If the connections are normal, the bulb is nearing the end of its service life and shall be replaced.
