Correct Selection of Infrared Thermometers in Intelligent Buildings

In intelligent building projects, usually, the selection of infrared thermometers should be considered from the following aspects: First, the test conditions: mainly including the purpose of measurement, the characteristic frequency bandwidth of the physical quantity to be tested, the requirements for measurement accuracy, and the time required for measurement.

Secondly, it is manifested in the performance of the infrared thermometer: mainly including accuracy, stability, response speed, output, load effect on the measured object, calibration cycle, input terminal protection, etc. Finally, we also need to use the conditions: mainly including the environmental conditions of the setting site, such as temperature, humidity, vibration, etc., measurement time and required power capacity, connection with other equipment, spare parts and maintenance services, etc.

In order to improve the measurement accuracy, the normal display value should be about 50% of the full scale to select the measurement range (or scale range). In short, we should start from the basic working principle of the infrared thermometer and pay attention to the possible load effect of the measured object. The selected infrared thermometer should not only meet the requirements but also be cheap.

As a detection device for intelligent buildings, the correct use of infrared thermometers refers to dealing with the linearization and compensation of the output characteristics of infrared thermometers, and anti-interference issues. Infrared thermometers play a decisive role in the intelligent building control system in intelligent buildings. Only when they are used correctly and skillfully can infrared thermometers fully exert their value in intelligent buildings.
