Differences in properties between AC power and DC power

 

What is AC power supply? Generally speaking, household AC power plugs and sockets refer to devices used to connect AC power provided by the mains, enabling household appliances and portable small devices to be powered on and used. The power plug has a male connector that protrudes in the shape of a rod or copper plate, and is physically inserted into a female connector type power socket with a slot or recess. Generally, plugs have live wires (with shorter holes), neutral wire connectors (with longer holes), and some also have grounding connectors (with a central circular hole). There are multiple types of plugs that do not specifically distinguish between live and neutral wires, and some connectors may have multiple live wires. These connectors may be plated with copper, tin, or nickel. Power sockets are female connectors with slots or holes, used to insert power plugs with rod-shaped or copper plate protrusions to conduct electricity to appliances through the plugs. Generally, sockets are designed with plugs of different specifications that cannot be inserted, and some sockets may have rod-shaped protrusions that match the holes on the plugs.


The difference between AC power supply and DC power supply. AC power supply is a power supply that provides alternating voltage direction and magnitude, while DC power supply has a fixed voltage direction and relatively stable magnitude. DC power cannot be measured through capacitors, while AC power can be measured through capacitors. If a multimeter is set to AC mode, the DC voltage cannot be measured, but the AC voltage can be measured in DC mode, but the value is unstable.
