Instruction Manual for Infrared Distance Meter

Generally, infrared rangefinders are used in conjunction with lasers, so it is recommended to refer to the instructions in the rangefinder manual for operation. The following is the instruction manual for infrared rangefinders:

1. Placement of instruments

First, place the theodolite on the measuring station and level it in the center. Then place the rangefinder host on the theodolite bracket and insert the battery into the battery box holder below the host. Place a reflective prism at the target point, align it perfectly, and then aim the prism towards the direction of the host.

2. Observing vertical angles and meteorological elements

Use a theodolite telescope to aim at the center of the prism target plate, so that the bubble in the vertical dial indicator level tube is centered (if there is an automatic compensation device for the vertical dial indicator, this operation is not available), read and record the vertical dial reading, and calculate the vertical angle. Then read the readings of the thermometer and barometer.

3. Determine the temperature measurement range

The temperature measurement range is the most important performance indicator of a thermometer. Each model of thermometer has its own specific temperature measurement range. Therefore, the user's measured temperature range must be considered accurately and comprehensively, neither too narrow nor too wide. According to the blackbody radiation law, the change in radiation energy caused by temperature in the short wavelength of the spectrum will exceed the change in radiation energy caused by emissivity error.

4. Determine the target size

Infrared thermometers can be divided into monochrome thermometers and two-color thermometers (radiation colorimetric thermometers) based on their principles. For monochrome thermometers, the area of the measured target should fill the thermometer's field of view during temperature measurement. It is recommended that the size of the target being tested exceed 50% of the field of view size.
