Diffuse reflection problem of heating circle laser rangefinder

Usually in order to reduce errors, those laser rangefinders will have a reflective surface on the end of the measurement to reduce the error caused by diffuse reflection. So how do those telescope-type laser rangefinders used by snipers overcome this problem? The working principle of the laser rangefinder is similar to that of sonar, but will the signal receiving the reflected light be easily interfered by other wavelengths and intensities of light in the environment? Humidity sensor probe, stainless steel electric heating tube, PT100 sensor, fluid solenoid valve , cast aluminum heater, heating coil

The detection device of the laser rangefinder (pulse type) generally uses an avalanche photodiode, which is only sensitive to light of a specific wavelength. If the wavelength matches, a very small light intensity can be detected by it. If the wavelength does not match, even if the light intensity is very large, , also cannot be detected. Laser has the characteristics of good monochromaticity, and the commonly used wavelength is 905nm. Therefore, the signal receiving the reflected light is not easily interfered by light of other wavelengths and intensities in the environment.

in addition:
There are two commonly used laser ranging schemes: pulse method and phase method.

The phase method measures distance by measuring the phase deviation of the returned wave. This needs to match the target, which is what you call a reflective surface on the measured end. In this case, the transmit power of the rangefinder is small.

Telescope-type laser rangefinders used by snipers generally use the pulse method, that is, they send out a pulse to start timing, and stop timing after receiving the reflected pulse to achieve the purpose of ranging. In this case, when there is no cooperating target, the energy loss due to diffuse reflection of light waves is very serious, but it generally does not affect the measurement. The reason is as mentioned above. Generally, the transmit power of the rangefinder will be increased to make certain compensation.
