Five Step Optical Maintenance for Microscopes
Firstly, it is very important to keep the optical components clean to ensure good optical performance. When the microscope is not in use, the microscope should be covered with the dust cover provided with the instrument. If there is dust and dirt on the optical surfaces and the instrument, the dust should be blown off with a balloon or the dirt should be removed with a soft brush before wiping the surfaces.
Secondly, the optical surface of the microscope should be cleaned with a lint-free cotton cloth, lens paper or cotton swabs moistened with a special lens cleaning solution. Avoid using too much solvent, lens paper or cotton swabs should be properly moistened with solvent but not because of the use of too much solvent and penetrate into the objective lens, resulting in loss of clarity and damage to the objective lens.
Third, the microscope in the eyepiece objective lens surface lens * easy to be dust and dirt and oil staining, when found lining, clarity reduction, fog occurs, it is necessary to use a magnifying glass to carefully check the eyepiece, objective lens in front of the lens condition.
Fourth, the low-magnification objective lens has a fairly large front group of lenses, can be wrapped around the fingers of the cotton cloth or cotton swabs and mirror paper wet with ethanol to wipe. 40X, 100X need to be more careful with a magnifying glass to double-check. In order to achieve a high degree of flatness in the high-magnification lens, applied to a small radius of curvature of the concave surface of the front group of lenses, in wiping this group of lenses with a toothpick or cotton swab with a cotton ball to clean. Wipe the surface of the lens gently. Do not use excessive force and a scraping motion, and be sure that the swab touches the concave surface of the lens. After cleaning with a magnifying glass to check whether the objective lens is damaged, if you have to go to open the barrel of the observation lens, be careful not to touch the exposed lens under the barrel, the lens surface, such as fingerprints will reduce the clarity of the imaging, with the method of cleaning the objective lens to wipe.
Fifth, when the microscope using 100X oil mirror used up, please wipe the surface of the oil mirror in time and check whether the 40X objective lens is stained with oil, if any, please wipe clear in time. Make the microscope always keep the image clear.
