Functions of Gas Holding Optical Detector
The gas holding rate optical detector is equipped with light-sensitive probes on four measuring walls at right angles to each other, which measure the light emitted from the instrument's light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and reflected by the surrounding liquid, and the reflected light is converted into an electrical signal by the photodiodes. From this signal, the water holding rate Yw and the number of bubbles Bc at the current position can be calculated. The intensity of the reflected light is directly related to the density of the surrounding liquid and the type of liquid. The intensity of reflection in gas is large, while in liquid it is small. The reflection coefficients of oil and water are very different, so the main use of GHOST is to measure the water holding rate in gas wells. However, it is also possible to use the small difference between the reflection coefficients of oil and water to distinguish between oil and water by quantitative analysis.
Fibre-optic holding rate sensor obtained by the liquid flow profile data in the tubing and conventional production logging instrument data comparison, in all the measurement results, the fibre-optic holding rate sensor measured results are more stable and credible, based on the results of the analysis of this data, the wells can be plugged in order to reduce the well water production. The fibre-optic holding rate sensor can also be used to analyse the pressure and fluid flow data at the bottom of the well without shutting down the well, thus obtaining the skin factor and other reservoir parameters.
