Online ph thermometers generally use sensitive glass as the measuring part for measuring the activity of hydrogen ions in water. Hydrogen ion activity itself is affected by temperature, the higher the temperature, the higher the activity. And the definition of pH itself introduces temperature. So now most of the online pH meters have introduced temperature compensation. The temperature range that mainstream pH meters can normally measure is basically above 0 degrees. There will be a large deviation in the measurement of sub-zero temperature, and the temperature will not be the main source of error under the working conditions within the measurement temperature range. The main error sources of a Ph meter are:
1. The aging degree of the sensitive glass film. The glass ph meter is a consumable item. The service life varies according to the on-site temperature, the properties of the measurement medium and the maintenance situation, and there is a shelf life. The ones that have been used for more than one year can no longer be used and measured normally.
2. Membrane clogging. In order to form an ion circuit, the ph meter has a semi-permeable membrane on the glass tube, which is generally made of PTFE or ceramics. After a long time of use, it will be blocked by particle pollution in the measurement medium.
3. The difference in type selection, the general measurement principle of the ph meter is the same, but there are differences in type selection for different working conditions, and wrong type selection will also cause deviations in measurement.
4. The error introduced by the transmitter, but this error is already very small, and it is generally not considered as the main consideration.
