How does the gas detector work in a limited space

Confined space refers to a space that is closed or partially closed, with narrow and limited entrances and exits, not designed as a fixed workplace, poor natural ventilation, and prone to accumulation of toxic and harmful, flammable and explosive substances, or insufficient oxygen content. Confined space operation refers to the operation activities carried out by operators entering a limited space.

Confined spaces are divided into three categories:

The first category: airtight equipment such as cabins, storage tanks, vehicle-mounted tanks, reactors, pressure vessels, pipelines, flues, boilers, etc.

The second category: limited underground space such as underground pipelines, basements, underground warehouses, underground engineering, waste wells, cellars, sewage ponds, biogas digesters, septic tanks, sewers, etc.

The third category: limited space on the ground, such as storage room, fermentation tank, garbage station, cold storage, granary, etc.

Before entering, personnel enter limited spaces (such as storage tanks, sewers, septic tanks, agricultural grain storage bins, tunnels, etc.) to work. Harmful gas concentration detection in the working environment must be carried out. Here, it is necessary to use a gas detector to solve the problem. The gas detector is also called a gas alarm, which uses a gas sensor to detect the type, composition and content of the gas in the environment.

Toxic and harmful gases, flammable and explosive gases diffuse and leak in the limited space, leading to risks such as hypoxia, poisoning, and explosion. For the risks of poisoning, hypoxia suffocation and gas explosion, it is the most direct and effective method to use gas detection and alarm devices for targeted detection.

Detection of gas detector

1. It has the function of pumping, so that it can detect non-contact and divided parts. In a limited space, the gas distribution and gas types are very different in different parts of the upper, middle and lower parts. You can choose a built-in pump or an external pump.

2. It can detect the concentration of various gases at the same time to detect dangerous gases distributed in different spaces, including inorganic gases and organic gases;

3. It can monitor the oxygen concentration function to prevent hypoxia or oxygen enrichment;

4. The appearance of the gas detector must be compact, easy to operate and read, and not affect the normal work of workers.
