How long can the gas detector be used for?
Physical examination instruments, like other objects, have a certain lifespan. If the instrument exceeds its lifespan, it needs to be replaced. However, in practical applications, there are many types of gas detectors, which means that different types of gas detectors have different lifespans.
Service life of gas detector
1. Regular calibration of gas detectors is required. If the measurement accuracy of the instrument decreases after one and a half years of use, it is necessary to return to the factory for recalibration. Don't damage the sensor just because it saves time.
2. The service life of a general gas detector is 5 years, but not all gas detectors can reach a service life of 5 years. Only by using the instrument in the correct field and conducting daily maintenance can its service life be guaranteed to be around 5 years. After the instrument exceeds its service life, it must be replaced with a new detector.
3. The sensors used in instruments for detecting the concentration of some combustible gases are mostly catalytic combustion sensors, and their service life is generally 3-5 years. And the lifespan of gas detectors (including fixed gas alarms and portable gas alarms) is also closely related to the gas concentration exposed in the environment.
The service life of electrochemical gas detectors is generally around 2 years. After more than 2 years, its performance needs to be tested. If it cannot meet our testing requirements, the detector needs to be replaced. In addition to detecting whether the sensor is aging, the instrument also needs to be calibrated. And it is necessary to use the corresponding standard gas calibration instrument correctly.
