How to Extend the Service Life of a Metallurgical Microscope
Methods to extend the service life of a metallurgical microscope. The following points should be noted during operation (illustrated based on the operation of metallurgical microscopes):
① If conditions permit, it is recommended that the laboratory meet three protection requirements: shock resistance (keep away from vibration sources), moisture resistance (use air conditioners and dryers), and dust prevention (lay floor panels on the ground). Power supply: 220V±10%, 50Hz; Temperature range: 0°C–40°C.
② Take care not to let the objective lens collide with the specimen during focusing to avoid scratching the objective lens.
③ Do not switch objective lenses when the center of the circular hole on the stage insert is offset from the center of the objective lens, so as to prevent scratching the objective lens.
④ Avoid frequent drastic adjustments of brightness, and do not set the brightness too high. Excessive brightness shortens bulb service life and also harms eyesight.
⑤ Perform all function switching operations gently and completely.
⑥ Turn the brightness down to the minimum before powering off.
⑦ Non-professional personnel shall not adjust the illumination system (filament position, lamp, etc.), otherwise the imaging quality may be degraded.
⑧ Be careful of high temperature when replacing the halogen lamp to prevent burns. Do not touch the glass body of the halogen lamp directly with your hands.
⑨ When the microscope is powered off and not in use, lower the objective lens to the lowest position via the focusing mechanism.
⑩ Do not cover the dust cover immediately after shutdown. Wait until the equipment cools down before covering it, and pay attention to fire prevention.
The above are key precautions only. Please operate the microscope carefully. If you encounter unsolvable problems during use, contact the microscope supplier by phone promptly.
