How to measure AC voltage with a digital multimeter

1, gear selected AC voltage block, when you do not know the voltage range, should be selected from the maximum range.

2,Meter should be connected in parallel with the circuit or component to be measured.

Measuring steps of AC voltage

Step 1: Turn on the power switch of the digital multimeter and rotate the multimeter to the AC voltage range of 750V.

Step 2: Turn on the power switch in the circuit.

Step 3: Measure the voltage between 1-2 points and record the reading, the voltage value is measured as: 220V.

Step 4: Rotate the multimeter to the AC voltage range of 20V, measure the voltage between points 3-4, 4-5, 6-7 respectively and record the readings.

(1) Measure the voltage between points 3-4: 10V.

(2) The voltage measured between points 4-5 is 10V.

(3) The voltage measured between points 6-7 is: 6.2V.

Cautions
1, if you do not know the measured voltage range will function switch to the maximum range and gradually down.

2,If the display only shows 1, it means that the range is too small and the function switch should be placed in a higher range.

3,Indicates that do not measure voltage higher than 1000V, display higher voltage value is possible, but there is a risk of damage to the internal wiring.

4, When measuring high voltages, take extra care to avoid electric shock.
