How to reduce the harm of electromagnetic radiation to people

(1) Shielding method
Adopt certain technical measures to control the impact of electromagnetic radiation within a specified spatial range. One method is to shield the radiation pollution source so that it does not affect biological organisms or equipment outside the limited range, which is called active field shielding or active field shielding; Another method is to shield people or equipment within a specified range from the influence or interference of electromagnetic radiation, which is called passive field shielding or passive field shielding.

(2) Grounding method
Guide the induced current generated by the shielding part or shielding body into the ground through the electrode to prevent it from becoming a secondary radiation source again.

(3) Absorption method
Select materials that can absorb electromagnetic waves to attenuate them.

(4) Individual Protection Law
Protection for operators in electromagnetic radiation field environment. Mainly wearing protective clothing; Wear protective helmets; Wear protective goggles, etc.

(5) Enhance awareness of radiation environmental protection, pay attention to the layout and zoning control of industrial radio frequency equipment, implement the "three zones" management of clean areas, lightly polluted areas, and heavily polluted areas, determine the protection distance, high-power transmission equipment must be placed in suburban areas, residential areas and schools should not be built near radio stations, and the site selection of large transmission stations should comply with relevant local government regulations.

Here we will provide a brief introduction to the radiation issues of communication base stations such as China Mobile, China Unicom, Xiaolingtong, and Dalingtong. The National Regulations on Electromagnetic Radiation Protection (GB8702-88) stipulate that China's electromagnetic radiation protection standards are stricter than some developed countries: the standards for the United States and Japan are 3000 microwatts per square centimeter, while the standards for the European Union are 450 microwatts per square centimeter. The standard in our country is 40 microwatts per square centimeter. The transmission power of larger mobile and China Unicom base stations is 20 watts, and the power density of the antenna in the first 10 meters is 0.6 microwatts per square centimeter, which is far below the national standard. On the other hand, the average transmission power of Da Ling Tong is 2W, while the transmission power of Xiao Ling Tong base station is only 500mW, resulting in a lower power density and reduced radiation during transmission. In fact, in our living and working environment, such as: (1) computers within a distance of 0.6-1.5 meters; (2) Places in the living room where household appliances such as televisions and speakers are relatively concentrated; (3) Surrounding industrial, scientific, and medical electrical equipment; (4) The radiation around high-voltage transmission lines and equipment is even greater than that of mobile communication base stations, so mobile communication base stations are not considered strong radiation sources. Especially based on the application of digital technology, the radiation intensity of modern mobile communication has been further controlled. Therefore, as long as the technical parameters of the base station meet the standards, the electromagnetic waves it emits will not pose a threat to human health, and nearby residents do not need to worry too much.
