You need to open the front panel of the watch case and carefully straighten the hands. This is a delicate task that requires careful attention, but it is not difficult. The pointer multimeter must have the red probe connected to the positive terminal and the black probe connected to the negative terminal. When measuring high voltage, reversing the probe can easily bend the needle. Nowadays, digital multimeters are also cheap, and the reverse connection of the probe only adds a negative sign before the number. For those who are not familiar with using a multimeter, it is recommended to buy a digital multimeter without changing the range. Simply connect the red and black probes without burning the meter.
You only need to open the back cover, remove the screws behind the panel, and then screw the needle's fingers straight. There are limit rods on both sides, and the pointer should be pressed tightly against the right limit rod and moved slightly to the right. Make sure the pointer points to the 0 position.
A pointer multimeter uses current and does not have reverse polarity protection in the voltage range. It is important to say this three times, otherwise the coil under the pointer may overload and burn out. If you don't have any accessories, you will have to buy a new one.
In my personal opinion, there is no problem with measuring the voltage of the tube with a pointer meter. If you want to measure accurately, it is recommended to use a digital multimeter. This type of multimeter has a reverse circuit, and if your probe is connected to the measuring point in the opposite direction, it will only display negative measurement values. Then ignore the minus sign.
When using, the voltage range should be selected correctly, and the gauge needle is generally not bent. For those who have hands-on ability, they can restore the table pointer, and pay attention to pointer balance when repairing. (Note: If there are any changes when the meter body is placed flat, upright, or sideways, this is the key to repairing the meter), otherwise the meter will not be correct.
