How to Test Wire Opens and Shorts with a Clamp Meter

A multimeter can only measure the poor wire, which can be identified with the eyes. For example, if the wire core is small, although there are many wires, it will be broken as soon as it is pulled. First of all, I judge whether it is on or off, but cannot judge its quality. And like those who want to understand the meaning of the most commonly used icons of multimeters:

Turn the multimeter knob to the position marked with the beep sign.

Connect the metal parts of the black and red test pens of the multimeter. At this time, the multimeter emits a continuous "beep" sound, and the multimeter is normal.

Strip both ends of the wire to be measured so that the metal parts are exposed.

Make the metal parts of the two test pens of the multimeter close to the two ends of the wire under test, and a beeping sound will be heard at this time!

If there is a beeping sound, it proves that the wire is normal, but if there is no beeping sound, it means that the wire is open and the wire needs to be replaced.
