How to Use a pH Meter to Measure pH
A pH meter is a common analytical instrument widely used in agriculture, environmental protection and industry. Let's learn how to use a pH meter to measure the pH value and precautions when using it.
1. The method of measuring ph with a PH meter acidity meter:
(1) Take off the pen cap
(2) Press the on/off button, the machine will display the operation
(3) Put the ph meter into the liquid to be tested
(4) Gently shake the pH meter to ensure that the inner bubbles escape, so that it is fully in contact with the solution, and do not collide with the cup wall
(5) The ph meter will display the value immediately. Put the pen into the liquid to be tested and wait for the value to stabilize. The correct value will be displayed within 30 seconds. (Special: It is normal for the ph count to fluctuate or be unstable)
(6) Press the hold button to lock the value, you can record and read outside the solution to be tested, continue to press the hold button to unlock
(7) Press the on/off button to turn off the ph meter
(8) Gently shake the excess water on the pH meter test pen, rinse it with distilled water or deionized water, and cover the pen cap to measure the temperature. In the test mode, the temperature value and the ph value are displayed on the LCD panel synchronously, but in the calibration mode It is not displayed, and the value defaults to Celsius.
2. Precautions for pH meter acidity meter:
(1) Please avoid high temperature, direct light
(2) Do not touch the sensor, if you touch it, please rinse it with a buffer solution with a pH of 7
(3) After each use, please cover the pen cap
(4) Do not test for too long in high temperature liquid
(5) After using in a solution with a high TDS value, please rinse the sensor
(6) If the pH solution with a large difference in the measurement range needs to be washed in a buffer solution with a pH of 7
(7) To optimize performance, use the best measurement accuracy at least once a month
(8) Although it is not necessary, if the ph pen is calibrated before each use, it will be more accurate
(9) Rinse with a buffer solution with a pH of 7 after each use
(10) When using, be sure to shake out the air bubbles inside
(11) If the sensor is scratched, it needs to be replaced immediately
(12) If the reading is slow or unresponsive, you need to replace the acidity meter battery or sensor. If the ph pen is used and calibrated continuously, the performance will be affected. If the ph pen is operating in a suitable environment, press the temp/cal key, when the cal When flashing, press the temp/cal and hold keys simultaneously for 2 seconds, the calibration will restart, and then you can re-calibrate.
