How to use an electric pen- Usage of digital measuring pens
There are both regular electric pens and digital electric pens, and the function of regular electric pens is single, which is to measure the fire wire.
There are two grip methods
The neon light on is the live wire, and if it is not on, it is the zero wire. The measurement voltage range is between 60 and 500 volts. When it is below 60 volts, the neon light of the test pen may not emit light.
Precautions for using an electric pen: First, observe whether there is resistance inside the pen and whether the pen is damp. Both of the above situations cannot be used.
Digital electric pen
Digital electric pens have many functions, such as measuring live wires, measuring breakpoints, and some can also measure continuity. This is the wiring for two types of light bulbs
One type is single connection single control wiring, and the other type is dual control wiring. We can see that when the switch is closed, the light bulb is connected to the live wire and the zero wire. So we can directly use an electric pen to measure the live and zero wire ends.
1. Electric pen test, if the live wire has electricity and the zero wire also has electricity, it means the zero wire is broken. After the zero wire is disconnected, it is actually equivalent to a live wire connecting a light bulb. The so-called zero wire position tested by the electric pen is actually the live wire.
Solution: Use a digital pen to measure the breakpoint and find it step by step along the so-called zero line.

2. Both the live and zero lines have no electricity
This situation is definitely due to the disconnection of the live wire, and it is also necessary to use an electric pen to measure the breakpoint and gradually locate the location of the live wire breakpoint.
3. The live wire has power, while the zero wire has no power. This is a normal state. If the light does not turn on in this situation, you can only check the lamp holder and light. If a multimeter is more accurate, simply measure whether the voltage at both ends is normal.
