How to use the multimeter and how to read it
The multimeter is a commonly used detection instrument in the basics of electrical and electronics. Generally, it has the functions of detecting current, voltage, resistance, capacitance, etc. As a common detection instrument, people in the industry must be familiar with the method of use and the method of reading.
Multimeter classification
Because it is already displayed on the screen, it can be judged that the multimeter used is a digital multimeter. There is also a pointer multimeter on the market. The readings of the pointer multimeter need us to calculate, because it is inconvenient to use. , so now most people use this kind of digital multimeter.
When measuring the current, we will also use a clamp ammeter. This clamp ammeter is very convenient to measure the current. Directly connect the wires to be measured into the current transformer, and the meter head will display the measured value. current value.
How to measure current with a multimeter
In addition to being able to read, it is also necessary to select the appropriate current gear and jack. When measuring resistance voltage and capacitance, the red test lead is inserted into a hole and the black test lead is inserted into the common terminal. However, when measuring current, we need to use the red test lead. Insert the test lead into the current gear. When measuring the current, we have to distinguish whether it is DC current or AC current.
After inserting the current measurement hole, select the appropriate current gear. If you are not sure about the current size, generally choose according to the first large and then small gears. The measured voltage is connected in parallel, and the measured current is connected in series. Therefore, it is necessary to connect the red test lead and the The black test leads are connected in series in the circuit, and it is generally recommended to be less than ten seconds.
Because some multimeters cannot pass strong current, too high current will impact the internal circuit of the ammeter, so when measuring the current, we still recommend using a clamp ammeter to measure.
