Introduction to Common Faults of Gas Detectors

Gas detectors that have been used for a long time, or stored or used improperly, can cause malfunctions and reduce their lifespan. So, what are the common faults of gas detectors?

1. Unable to correctly indicate the number

Gas detectors that have been used for a long time or have not been calibrated for a long time can result in incorrect readings. We all know that gas detectors are mainly detected through internal sensors, which have a certain lifespan. When used for a certain number of times, the sensitivity of the sensor decreases, which affects the detection results. In addition, if calibration is not carried out for a long time, it will also affect the detection results.

2. Gas detector unable to aspirate

This type of problem mainly occurs in pump suction gas detectors. The gas is detected by a small suction pump inside the detector. If the suction pump is damaged or malfunctions, it can cause the gas detector to be unable to aspirate. This problem is easy to solve and can be replaced with a new suction pump.

3. Gas detector malfunction

This type of fault is prone to occur in special working environments, such as the presence of a large amount of dust and oil stains in the detection environment, which can contaminate the gas detector and cause it to malfunction. Such environments require cleaning of the gas detector.
