Introduction to the Applications of Metallographic Microscopes in Various Industries
Originally derived from metallography, its main purpose is as a professional instrument for observing metallographic structures. It is a microscope specifically designed for observing the metallographic structures of opaque objects such as metals and minerals. These opaque objects cannot be observed in a regular transmission light microscope, so the main difference between gold and a regular microscope is that the former is illuminated by reflected light, while the latter is illuminated by transmitted light.
Metallographic microscopes have the characteristics of good stability, clear imaging, high resolution, and a large and flat field of view. It can not only perform microscopic observation on the eyepiece, but also observe real-time dynamic images on the computer (digital camera) display screen, and can edit, save, and print the required images. It is mainly used in hardware, slicing, IC components, LCD/LED and other fields.
Because there are five types of metallographic microscope lenses: EPI bright field fluorescence; BD bright and dark field; SLWD ultra long working distance; ELWD strengthens working distance; Equipped with a correction ring. In the hardware industry, some hardware components with severe reflection can be observed using BD lenses with bright and dark fields. For example, in the LCD industry, when observing and measuring conductive particles, a metallographic microscope can also be paired with DIC to make the object look more three-dimensional. Because it is polarized, a microscopic observation technique that uses two sets of color filters to form polarized light. Based on its birefringence properties, the direction of the optical path can be changed. Of course, polarized light can only be used in conjunction with DIC and has little significance on its own. Metallographic microscope is used for measuring and analyzing small dimensions such as IC components and metallographic sections. It can be measured using the intelligent software Iview SIMS, which has high accuracy and effectively reduces human measurement errors. Easy to learn and use, it can easily measure and analyze relevant dimensions such as points, lines, arcs, semi meridians, straight meridians, angles, etc., easily take measurement pictures and customize various test reports
