Introduction to the principle, operation, and use of clamp ammeters

The important component of a clamp type ammeter is a clamp type iron core sensor, which opens and clamps the killed wire by pressing the trigger; It can pass through the clamp mouth without cutting it off. Passing through the iron core wire becomes the primary coil of the current transformer, where the current is induced in the secondary coil through the current. Thus, the ammeter connected to the secondary coil can indicate the current of the tested circuit on the LCD. The ETCR series clamp ammeter automatically shifts gears and is easy to operate. Principle and operation of clamp ammeter

Usage of clamp ammeter:

1. Select the level requirements, range, and resolution of the clamp ammeter based on the condition of the tested circuit. Check whether the iron core of the jaw is intact, whether there is rust, and whether the jaw opening and closing are sensitive

2. Before use, familiarize yourself with the instructions and operate according to the requirements

3. During on-site testing, one single-phase line can be directly tested (line current measurement); Can clamp the main and zero lines together (line leakage current); Three wire lines require single detection. By measuring

It can distinguish the absorption current, leakage current, and grounding current to determine whether the motor is overloaded

4. The voltage of the tested circuit should not exceed the value indicated on the clamp ammeter, otherwise it may cause grounding accidents or electric shock hazards. The current of the tested circuit cannot exceed the limit of the ammeter. If the current value of the tested circuit is too large, a large number of range clamp meters need to be replaced.

Tips for using a clamp type ammeter: When testing small currents, first wind the wires of the circuit being tested a few turns, and then clamp the ammeter for testing. The data obtained is the reading of the clamp gauge divided by the number of coils wrapped around the wire. This way, the measured values are more accurate
