Maintenance Methods for Portable Gas Detectors
Many users neglect maintenance after using portable gas detectors, which shortens the service life of portable gas detection alarms and even leads to abnormal operation. The maintenance methods for portable gas detectors are introduced as follows.
① Keep the instrument dry and away from rain, moisture and corrosive liquids. ② Do not use or store the instrument in dusty and dirty environments for a long time.
③ It is forbidden to store the instrument in excessively high or low temperature environments.
④ Do not drop, knock or violently shake the instrument. Rough operation may cause damage to the device.
⑤ Do not clean the instrument with irritating chemicals, detergents or high‑concentration cleaners. Use a clean cotton swab dipped in a small amount of clean water or soapy water to gently wipe the instrument and dry it immediately. ⑥ Keep the filter at the detection port clean and prevent liquid from entering the port. If liquid enters, invert the instrument to let the liquid flow out naturally. Do not shake the instrument.
⑦ Charge the instrument only with chargers provided or approved by the manufacturer. Unapproved chargers may damage the instrument.
⑧ Contact the distributor for repair if the instrument malfunctions. Do not attempt to repair it by yourself.
⑨ Do not apply strong airflow directly to the detection port during measurement; otherwise, inaccurate test results will be obtained.
Following the above maintenance rules can greatly extend the service life and maintain the sensitivity of portable gas detectors, so as to protect people's lives and property from losses.
