1. Choose your range and gear. Set the meter switch to the DC current "mA" position, then choose the appropriate range based on the current being measured. You can first place the DC current for testing at the highest gear if the current is unknown in order to prevent the current from being too huge and exceeding the range. If the range is too wide, narrow it down until it is appropriate.


2. Join the circuits together in series. The test leads must be linked to the current in series when using a multimeter to measure current. The red test lead should be attached to the circuit's high potential end, and the black test lead should be connected to the circuit's low potential end.

 

3. Reading method:

 

(1) Correctly select the scale line for reading.

 

(2) Converted current value: Current value is equal to the number of scales the pointer is pointing at, the range's size, and the scale's maximum value.
