Methods for improving the welding quality of electric soldering irons

1. When using an electric soldering iron for welding, it is necessary to ensure that each welding point is firmly welded and in good contact to ensure welding quality.

2. Good solder joints require bright, smooth, and free from burrs, with a moderate amount of tin. Tin and the solder are firmly fused. There should be no false soldering or false soldering.

3. Pay attention to preventing the problem of false soldering and false soldering: False soldering refers to only a small amount of solder stuck at the solder joint, resulting in poor contact and intermittent disconnection. False soldering refers to a situation where it appears to be soldered on the surface, but in reality it is not soldered on. Sometimes, with a single hand pull, the lead will be pulled out of the solder joint.

Only through extensive and careful welding practice can these two major problems be avoided.

4. When welding circuit boards, it is necessary to control the time. If the time is too long, the circuit board will be burnt or the copper foil will fall off. When disassembling components from the circuit board, the electric soldering iron tip can be attached to the solder joint, and after the tin on the solder joint melts, the component can be pulled out.

5. Fluxes (rosin and soldering oil) are crucial during welding. Fresh rosin and non corrosive soldering oil help to achieve high-quality welding and make the surface smooth and beautiful. Use a versatile flux.

Trimming and tinning of ordinary soldering iron heads

1) Soldering iron heads are generally made of red copper. For coated soldering iron heads, they should not be filed or polished. Because the purpose of the electroplating layer is to protect the soldering iron head from corrosion. There is also a new type of alloy soldering iron head that has a longer lifespan but requires a specialized soldering iron. Generally used for welding printed boards for fixing products.
