Methods for Prolonging the Service Life of Metallurgical Microscopes
Methods to Extend the Service Life of a Metallurgical Microscope: Please observe the following points during operation (the description is based on the operation of metallurgical microscopes):
① If conditions permit, the laboratory should meet three protection requirements: shockproof (keep away from vibration sources), moisture-proof (use air conditioners and dryers), dust-proof (lay floor coverings on the ground). Power supply: 220V±10%, 50Hz; Temperature range: 0°C - 40°C.
② Take care not to let the objective lens touch the specimen during focusing to avoid scratching the objective.
③ Do not switch objectives when the center of the circular hole on the stage spacer is misaligned with the center of the objective lens, to prevent scratching the objective.
④ Avoid frequent drastic changes of brightness or excessive brightness, which will shorten bulb service life and damage eyesight.
⑤ Perform all function switching operations gently and make sure they are fully engaged.
⑥ Turn the brightness down to the minimum before switching off the power.
⑦ Non-professional personnel shall not adjust the illumination system (filament position, lamp alignment), otherwise the imaging quality will be impaired.
⑧ Be careful of high temperature when replacing halogen lamps to prevent burns; do not touch the glass body of the halogen lamp directly with hands.
⑨ When the microscope is powered off and not in use, lower the objective lens to the lowest position via the focusing mechanism.
⑩ Do not cover the microscope with the dust cover immediately after shutdown. Wait for it to cool down first, and pay attention to fire prevention.
