Operating steps for using a gas detector

Step 1: Check the gas detector

When we use the gas detector to enter the detection site, we must do the corresponding detection on the gas detector. What we need to detect is whether the gas detector can work normally, such as whether the sensor is normal, whether the power is sufficient, and whether various alarm functions are available. Normally, these are the items that must be tested, but now many instruments have their own detection function, and they will self-check when they are turned on, such as BW solo detector or Mesian detector, etc.

Step 2: Determine the location of the testing site

Before using the gas detector to enter the site, we need to determine the situation on the site. If there is a gas that may leak, and the gas we need to detect, we will take corresponding protective measures in advance according to various gases. If it is a toxic gas, we will do more Good protective measures, such as air respirator, gas mask, etc.

Step 3: Start testing

After entering the detection site, we will detect the gas to be detected in the environment, and place the probe of the portable gas detector in the environment to be tested. When the value is set, the alarm indicator light is on, and an alarm sound is issued at the same time. When the probe moves to the leak source, the value displayed on the gas detector concentration display increases, and the reading is recorded.

Step 4: The inspection is completed

After completing various tests in the environment, we need to transmit the test data to facilitate later research and management. Some gas detectors can directly transmit the test data to electronic products such as computers through Bluetooth and wireless data transmission. Turn off the gas detector after transfer.

Step 5: Charging

When the gas detector is low in power, we cannot use the gas detector for detection, and the gas detector will send out a low battery alarm signal, this is when we turn off the power and use the charger to charge the battery, each charge is about 10-14 hours !You can continue to use it after charging, but some 2-year maintenance-free gas detectors such as Draeger PAC6000 gas detector or Mesian Skyhawk maintenance-free gas detector, etc., do not need to be replaced during the 2-year use period Battery.

The sixth step: maintenance and calibration

After the gas detector is used, we should regularly clean and maintain the gas detector. After using it for half a year or a year, we should calibrate the gas detector. The purpose of calibration is to ensure that the gas detector has no detection errors, so it is necessary to regularly detect the gas. The instrument is calibrated.
