Oscilloscope current probe features and performance introduction
Current probes measure the magnetic field generated by electrons moving within a wire. Within the range specification of the current probe, the magnetic flux field around the wire is converted into a linear voltage output, which can be displayed and analysed on an oscilloscope or other measuring instrument. The flux field can be accurately measured by wrapping the wire completely around the core of the probe (split core and solid core). Split-core probes are so convenient that they can be clipped onto the wire without disconnecting it. Solid core current transformers (CTs) are designed for permanent or semi-permanent installation, they are small in size and provide a very high frequency response, allowing the measurement of ultra-fast, low-amplitude current pulses and AC signals.
Features and performance of oscilloscope current probes
Simply measure current through the TEKR0BEBNC interface. Directly connected to the TDS series connected to the core core structure, you can simply access the circuit DC to 50MHz bandwidth 15A DC ten peak AC current 50A peak pulse current 500 * 0.000001 (Ampere-second).
Performance:
1.Bandwidth DC to 50MHz.
2.Maximum DC + Peak AC Current - 15A.
3. Maximum peak pulse current-50A.
4. Minimum sensitivity-10mA/gram.
5.DC Accuracy
6.±1% (with probe calibrator)
7.±3% (without probe calibrator).
8.Maximum bare wire voltage-300V(CAT ︱).
Note on the use of oscilloscope current probes
1. Through the fault analysis of the damaged current probe, it is found that the probe parts that are easily damaged are roughly:
2. The circuit board connected to the current amplifier;
3. Bad magnetic ring of the current probe;
4. the magnetic ring coil of the current probe;
5. cosmetic damage to the sliding clamp of the current probe;
6. broken cable wires.
7. causes of damage to the current probe, methods of preventing damage and instructions for use The causes of damage to the above five parts can be summarised as follows:
8. Damage to the circuit board caused by plugging and unplugging the current probe after the current amplifier is switched on.
9. Methods to prevent damage: - Remember not to plug and unplug the current probe with electricity
10. Magnetic rings are fragile materials and can be easily broken by dropping them on the ground or using them with excessive force. Damaged rings may cause inaccuracy or failure to measure current.
11. Preventing Damage and Use: - Avoid dropping or applying excessive force when using the device.
12. The coil of the magnetic ring is thin, over current will cause the coil to burn out.
13.Methods of preventing damage:- Avoid overcurrent load when using it.
14. Misaligned or cracked current clamps may cause inaccuracy or failure to measure current. Be careful when pushing the clamps.
15. Methods to prevent damage:- Align the current clamps during use. Pay attention and be careful when pushing the clamps.
16.The cable will be easily damaged if it is pulled or twisted too hard.
17. Preventing damage:- Do not pull or twist the cable too hard when using it.
