Precautions for the use of digital multimeters

1. When measuring voltages above 36V DC and 25V AC, measuring currents above 10mA, and measuring AC power lines with inductive loads; beware of electric shocks when measuring AC power lines during power fluctuations.

2. Before measurement, check whether the measurement function switch is in the correct position, check whether the test leads are in reliable contact, whether they are connected correctly, whether they are well insulated, etc., to avoid electric shock.

3. The meter only meets the safety standards when used with the provided test leads. If the test lead wire is damaged, the test lead wire of the same model or the same electrical specification must be replaced.

4. Do not replace the fuse inside the meter with other uncertified or unapproved fuses. Only replace the fuse of the same model or the same specification. Before replacement, the test leads must leave the measured point to ensure that there is no signal at the input end.

5. Do not replace the batteries in the meter with other unqualified batteries. Replace only with batteries of the same type or electrical specifications. Before replacement, the test leads must leave the measured point to ensure that there is no signal at the input end.

6. When conducting electrical measurements, do not directly touch the ground, and do not touch bare metal terminals, output ports, lead clips, etc. that may have ground potential. Usually dry clothes, rubber shoes, rubber pads, and other insulating materials are used to keep your body insulated from the ground.

7. Do not store and use in high temperature, high humidity, flammable, explosive and strong magnetic field environments. From: Electrician World

8. Measuring the voltage beyond the allowable limit of the instrument may damage the instrument and endanger the safety of the operator. The limit voltage value allowed by the meter is marked on the panel of the meter. Do not measure the safety exceeding this standard, and do not input more than the specified limit value to prevent electric shock and damage to the meter.

9. When the test lead wire is inserted into the current socket, do not measure any voltage, so as not to damage the meter and endanger the safety of the operator.

10. Do not attempt to calibrate or service the meter, unless required by a specially trained or recognized qualified professional.

11. When measuring, the function/range selection switch must be placed in the correct range gear. When switching the function/range selection switch, please disconnect the test leads from the object to be measured to ensure that there is no signal input at the input end. It is strictly forbidden to switch the function/range selection switch during measurement.

12. When the LCD shows that the battery is low, the battery should be replaced in time to ensure the measurement accuracy.

13. It is not allowed to measure voltage in the current range!

14. Please do not change the instrument circuit at will, so as not to damage the instrument and endanger the safety.
