Precautions for using digital clamp ammeter and instrument maintenance

1. Precautions during measurement
(1) Measurement in a circuit with a voltage higher than 600 volts AC may cause electric shock or damage to the instrument.

(2) Before measuring current, remove all test leads from the instrument to avoid touching live conductors.

(3) Try to avoid strong magnetic fields to avoid the accuracy of strong magnetic field measurement data.

(4) When the jaws cannot be completely closed, do not force them to close. You can open the jaws and try again. If there is foreign matter stuck to the jaw end, it should be removed immediately.

(5) In any range, it should be ensured that the measured current does not exceed the maximum allowable measurement value of this range.

(6) Do not switch the range switch with load during the measurement process.

(7) After the measurement is completed, the selector switch should be placed in the off position to prevent battery leakage or inadvertent burning of the instrument during the next measurement.

2. Instrument maintenance
(1) Clamp ammeters should be maintained and calibrated regularly to detect problems and hidden dangers in a timely manner and ensure normal use. During maintenance, first check whether all components and parts of the meter are damaged, use a soft brush or cotton cloth to wipe off floating dust, and then dip it in a little non-corrosive solvent or clean water to carefully wipe and dry it. During maintenance, you can Open the battery box for inspection or scrubbing, but do not open the watch case. When calibrating, it is necessary to use similar meters with good performance to measure the same measured current. The results should be consistent. Otherwise, it means that the calibrated meter has failed or is damaged and needs to be calibrated or repaired. The maintenance and calibration cycle is usually three months, or maintenance or calibration should be performed after the meter is used intensively and frequently.

(2) After maintenance or calibration, the clamp ammeter should be stored in a well-ventilated indoor shelf or cabinet; the indoor air should not contain corrosive and harmful components; the environment should be dry, the temperature should be appropriate, and it should comply with the table. The meter shall not be subject to severe mechanical vibration under any circumstances; if the battery is installed inside, it must be removed to prevent the battery from leaking and damaging the meter; the indoor light should not be too strong, and direct sunlight is strictly prohibited from shining on the meter. , because its plastic shell will accelerate aging under the actinic action of sunlight, and the LCD screen is even more afraid of sunlight.
