Refractometer theory and applications in food, drink, sauce, agriculture, and forestry

Refractive index: also known as relative refractive index, is a scale Hand-held refractometer: also known as sugar mirror, hand-held sugar meter. Small, easy to carry, visual reading.

Handheld digital refractometer: compact, easy to carry, digital display readings.

Refractometer: high precision, easy operation, fast measurement, no consumption of chemical reagents, no chemical pollution

Online refractometer: It can monitor the refractive index, Brix, various custom concentrations and temperature of samples online in real time on the production line to ensure production safety.

1. Application of refractometer

1. Food and beverage industry:

A: (carbonated beverage) - control of Brix value during processing and finished product;

B: (Fruit and vegetable juice, herbal tea beverages) - Brix and acidity control of raw material harvesting, beverage processing and Brix value control of finished products;

C: (milk milk beverage) - milk raw material acquisition concentration control and water mixing, milk dry matter concentration control and Brix value control of finished milk beverage processing process;

2. Flavor and Fragrance Industry: Measure the refractive index for raw material detection and QC detection of production enterprises

3. Sauce industry: concentration and Brix value measurement of tomato sauce, strawberry jam, blueberry jam and other jams

4. Seasoning industry: the total concentration and salinity measurement of various garlic sauces, seafood sauces, salad dressings, soy sauces, etc.

5. Sugar industry: sugar content determination of sucrose, honey, maltose, HFCS-55, HFCS-42 and other syrups is controlled by dry matter content

6. Catering industry: used for purchasing and acceptance of food, sauces, fruits and other raw materials, QC quality control of various beverages, coffee, soup and other products to ensure quality consistency; detection of sugar content, total concentration, salinity

7. Wine industry:

A: Wine, rice wine, fruit wine, etc. are used for sampling and testing of raw materials for winemaking (grapes, grain fermentation liquid), control of total wine concentration, sugar content and acidity control, purchase rating, water mixing judgment, etc.

B: Detection of beer original wort concentration, sugar content and total concentration of finished products

8. Agriculture and forestry:

A: (Agricultural planting and production industry) -Soil moisture monitoring during the production period, fruit and vegetable picking confirmation, maturity monitoring, sugar content and acidity control

B: (Fruit and Vegetables Trade) - Trader wholesale quick sampling sugar content testing, grading packaging, purchase grading, sales pricing, such as: the difference in sugar content between natural ripening and accelerated ripening vegetables and fruits, and the difference in sugar content between different ripening

C: (Supermarket store) - Purchase acceptance, graded pricing of fruit sugar content (for special groups, diabetes and fructose sensitive people)

D: (universities, research institutes and Bureau of Agriculture and Forestry) - cultivation guidance, maturity monitoring; quality improvement and development of new varieties, agricultural product processing, etc.

9. Fisheries:

A: (mariculture) - seawater salinity and seawater specific gravity monitoring

B: (Seafood processing) - Control of salinity and concentration of processed food
