Safety regulations for using electricity test pens
1. Before using the test pen, you must first calibrate the test pen to ensure that the function of the test pen is normal. We can test it on a known power source to see if the neon bulb glows. We also need to check whether the electroscope pen is affected by moisture or water to ensure our own safety.
2. Before using a test pen to enter the electric field for testing, check whether the voltage in the location is suitable. Do not try to use a test pen to test voltages higher than the applicable range to avoid danger.
3. When using a test pen, do not touch the metal probe at the front of the test pen to avoid electric shock; when using the test pen, be sure to touch the metal piece or metal hook at the end of the test pen. If this is not done, although the neon bulb of the electric test pen does not emit light, because the charged object, the electric test pen, the human body and the earth do not form a circuit, it cannot be correctly judged whether the charged object is charged. Misjudgment will be very dangerous.
4. When using an electroscope pen under bright light, pay special attention to determine whether the neon bulb of the electroscope pen is really bright. Many accidents are caused by carelessness and misjudgment, and we must avoid this.
5. It is best to wear insulating shoes when using the electroscope pen to prevent problems before they occur.
6. When judging whether the electricity is in the same phase or out of phase, be sure to remember that the two feet must be insulated from the ground. Test by holding a pen in each hand, whether both pens light up or only one lights up, it is the same. If it does not light up, it is in-phase electricity, and as long as it emits light, it is out-of-phase electricity.
7. When using an electric test pen to test high-voltage equipment, you must first strictly implement the operation supervision system. While someone is operating, one person should monitor it. The operator should be in the front and the guardian should be in the back. When using a test pen, be sure to pay attention to the adaptation of the rated voltage to the voltage level of the electrical equipment being tested.
8. When testing electricity, the operator must wear insulating gloves and insulating shoes to prevent contact voltage from harming the human body. The operator must first check the electric test pen on the electrical equipment. When performing live inspection on multi-layer lines, the low voltage should be tested first, and then the high voltage should be tested, first on the upper layer and then on the lower layer.
