Solutions to several problems with optical microscopes

Problems with proper mounting
Before using the microscope, the first thing to do is to install the eyepiece and objective lens of the microscope. The installation of the eyepiece is relatively simple, the main problem lies in the installation of the objective lens, due to the objective lens lens is more expensive, in case the students install the threads did not fit well, easy to fall to the ground, resulting in damage to the lens, so in order to insure that the students in the installation of the objective lens should be stressed with the left index finger and middle finger to support the objective lens, and then the right hand will be the objective lens mounted on the right hand, so that even if it is not installed well, it will not fall to the ground.

Problems of correctly aligning the light
Light is a very important step in the use of microscopes, some students in the light, casually turn an objective lens to the through-hole, rather than according to the requirements of the light must be low magnification. When turning the reflector, they like to use one hand, often wrenching the reflector down. Therefore, when instructing students, teachers must emphasise the use of low magnification to the light, when the light is strong with a small aperture, plane mirror, while the light is weak with a large aperture, concave mirror, the reflector should be used with both hands to rotate, when you see a uniformly bright round field of view until. Do not move the microscope around after the light has been aligned, so that the light does not pass accurately through the reflector and into the light-through hole.

Problems of Objective Lens Conversion
After using a low magnification lens to change to a high magnification lens, students often like to use their fingers to push and turn the objective lens directly, thinking that this is more energy-saving, but this is easy to make the optical axis of the objective lens is skewed, the reason is that the material of the converter is softer in texture and higher in precision, and the threads are easy to come loose with uneven force. Once the threads are damaged, the entire converter will be scrapped. Teachers should instruct students to hold the lower rotating plate of the converter to convert the objective lens.

Problems of correct eye use
When observing objects with a microscope, both eyes should be open at the same time, and the left eye should gaze into the eyepiece. But there are many students tend to do not do this, like to cover the right eye or simply close the right eye, which is not in line with the requirements of the observation of the experiment, this ** habit will cause fatigue of the left eye, but also can not do while observing the drawing. Teachers in pointing out this fault of the students at the same time, should be specific demonstration, tell the students that the left eye should try to close to the eyepiece, the right eye tries to gaze into the field of view, so that the repeated training, will achieve the requirements of the eyes open at the same time to observe. Or you can also do the following exercise: open both eyes, with a piece of paper or palm vertical between the eyes, nose in front of the heel, so that the left and right eyes can not look at each other on the opposite side, and then consciously look at the left side, and then look at the right side, so that 3 to 5 times a day in the morning and evening to do it once a day, less than a week will be able to learn.
