Special applications for clamp-on ammeters
(1) in the measurement of the hand pinch tight spanner that is open, the location of the measured current-carrying wire should be placed in the middle of the jaws, to prevent measurement errors, and then release the spanner, so that the core is closed, the meter head on the instructions.
(2) Measurement should first estimate the size of the measured current or voltage, select the appropriate range or first choose a larger range measurement, and then depending on the size of the measured current and voltage to reduce the range, so that the reading is more than 1/2 of the scale, in order to get a more accurate reading.
(3) in order to make accurate readings, the jaws of the two surfaces should ensure a good joint, such as noise, the jaws can be reopened and closed once, if the sound still exists, you can check whether there is dirt on the joint surface, if there is dirt, can be wiped clean with petrol.
(4) When measuring low-voltage fusible fuse or low-voltage busbar current, the neighbouring phases should be isolated by insulating boards before measurement to prevent phase-to-phase short-circuits that may be caused when the jaws are open.
(5) Some models of clamp ammeter with AC voltage scale, measurement of current and voltage should be carried out separately, not at the same time.
(6) Can not be used for high-voltage measurement.
(7) After the measurement is completed, be sure to put the adjustment switch on the maximum current range position, so as to avoid damage to the instrument when it is used next time due to unselected range.
(8) In order to measure the current less than 5A can get a more accurate reading, in conditions permitting a few more turns of the wire into the jaws of the measurement, but the actual current value should be read for the number divided by the number of wires into the jaws of the number of roots.
