Precautions for Clamp Ammeter Measurement Work

Precautions for the use of clamp ammeter

1. When the on-duty personnel use a clamp-on ammeter on the high-voltage circuit to measure, they should be performed by two people. When the off-duty personnel measure, they should fill in the second work ticket.

2. When measuring on a high-voltage circuit, it is strictly forbidden to connect a wire from a clamp-type ammeter to another meter for measurement.

3. If it is necessary to remove the barrier during measurement, it should be done immediately after removing the barrier. After the work is completed, the barrier should be restored to its original position immediately.

4. When using the clamp ammeter, pay attention to the voltage level of the clamp ammeter, wear insulating gloves when measuring, stand on the insulating pad, and do not touch other equipment to prevent short circuit or grounding. When observing the time of the watch, pay special attention to keeping a safe distance from the head and live parts.

5. When measuring the current of low-voltage fusible fuses and horizontally arranged low-voltage busbars, the fuses of each phase and the busbars should be protected and isolated with insulating materials before measurement to avoid short circuit between phases, and care should be taken not to touch other live parts.

6. When measuring the current of each phase of the high-voltage cable, the distance between the cable heads should be more than 300mm, and the insulation is good, and the measurement is convenient. When one of the three phases is grounded, measurement is strictly prohibited.

7. The clamp ammeter should be stored in a dry room and wiped clean when used.
