The functions of some capacitors in multimeter:

 

Function of coupling capacitor: The capacitor used in coupling circuits is called a coupling capacitor. This type of capacitor circuit is widely used in impedance capacitance coupling amplifiers and other capacitor coupling circuits to act as a barrier between direct current and alternating current.


Function of filtering capacitor: The capacitor used in the filtering circuit is called a filtering capacitor, which is used in power filtering and various filtering circuits. The filtering capacitor removes signals within a certain frequency band from the total signal.


The function of the decoupling capacitor is to use a capacitor called a decoupling capacitor in the decoupling circuit. This capacitor circuit is used in the DC voltage supply circuit of multi-stage amplifiers to eliminate harmful low-frequency interconnections between each stage amplifier.


Function of high-frequency damping capacitor: The capacitor used in high-frequency damping circuits is called a high-frequency damping capacitor. In audio negative feedback amplifiers, this capacitor circuit is used to eliminate high-frequency self excitation that may occur, in order to eliminate high-frequency whistling that may occur in the amplifier.


Function of resonant capacitor: The capacitor used in LC resonant circuits is called a resonant capacitor, which is required in both LC parallel and series resonant circuits.


Function of bypass capacitor: The capacitor used in the bypass circuit is called a bypass capacitor. If a signal in a certain frequency band needs to be removed from the signal in the circuit, a bypass capacitor circuit can be used. Depending on the frequency of the removed signal, there are full frequency domain (all AC signals) bypass capacitor circuits and high-frequency bypass capacitor circuits.


Neutralization capacitor function: The capacitor used in neutralization circuits is called a neutralization capacitor. In radio high-frequency and intermediate frequency amplifiers, as well as television high-frequency amplifiers, this neutralizing capacitor circuit is used to eliminate self excitation.


Timer capacitor function: The capacitor used in the timer circuit is called a timer capacitor. In circuits that require time control through capacitor charging and discharging, timed capacitor circuits are used, where capacitors play a role in controlling the magnitude of the time constant.


Integral capacitor function: The capacitor used in the integral circuit is called an integral capacitor. In the synchronous separation circuit of potential field scanning, this integral capacitor circuit can be used to extract the field synchronization signal from the field composite synchronization signal.


Differential capacitance function: Capacitors used in differential circuits are called differential capacitors. In order to obtain the peak trigger signal in the trigger circuit, this differential capacitor circuit is used to obtain the peak pulse trigger signal from various (mainly rectangular pulse) signals.
