The main differences between soldering stations and soldering irons
1. Soldering stations generally have anti-static functions, but soldering irons do not.
2. The soldering station can control the temperature. The life of the soldering iron tip and the life of the heating core are much longer than that of the soldering iron tip.
3. The soldering efficiency of the soldering station is higher than that of the electric soldering iron. The thermal efficiency can reach about 80%, while the maximum of the electric soldering iron is 50%.
4. The energy consumption of the soldering station is lower than that of the electric soldering iron. For the same welding effect, the soldering station uses much less electricity than the electric soldering iron.
5. The voltage of the handle of the welding station is only AC 24 volts. Within the safe range, there will be no electric shock.
6. The temperature recovery speed of the soldering station is relatively fast, and the corresponding welding efficiency is relatively high.
Welding is often performed on a fixed desktop, and the soldering station has obvious advantages.
1. The soldering station has a power switch. Turn it on when it is in use and turn it off when not in use. It is simpler than turning on a TV, as simple as turning on and off a light.
2. There is an indicator light. If you forget to turn off the soldering station, you can tell at a glance whether the soldering station is still working from a few meters away.
3. It has constant temperature and temperature adjustment functions. The soldering iron tip is not easy to burn and has a long service life.
4. Temperature recovery is relatively fast. There is no problem in desoldering the electrolytic capacitors on the computer motherboard. A soldering station can be used as a 30W soldering iron or a 60W soldering iron.
I once compared the efficiency of replacing motherboard capacitors with a 40W external thermoelectric soldering iron and an imitation 936 soldering station. It took 1.5 hours with a 30W soldering iron and almost damaged the motherboard. Using the 936 soldering station, it only took ten minutes to replace the new capacitors, a total of 21 capacitors.
Use a pointed round tip soldering iron tip to remove the motherboard capacitor, and install the capacitor on a large area of copper.
1. Overlay two solder joints with new tin and melt the solder joints at the same time. Wait for more than ten seconds to allow the PCB board to heat up.
2. Use your other hand to gently shake and pull out the capacitor.
3. If the soldering hole is large enough, use a pointed round soldering iron tip to pierce the soldering hole, and then pull it out to bring out most of the solder.
4. Use a toothpick to make holes.
5. Solder the new capacitor. If you feel that the temperature is not rising enough, you may use the measuring surface of the soldering iron to solder.
An ordinary soldering iron has the advantage of being portable. The disadvantage is that the welding skills of the operator are relatively high. I personally think that if you know how to use an ordinary soldering iron, it will be very easy to use a soldering station. If you are used to a soldering station, you may not necessarily be able to use an ordinary soldering iron.
