The relationship between the set temperature of the soldering station and the actual temperature of the welding tip during welding
1. The deviation between the display and the actual temperature of the soldering tip: Many people think that if there is a difference between the set temperature and the actual temperature of the soldering tip, it means that the performance of the soldering iron is faulty or damaged, but this is not the case. The difference between the set temperature and the actual temperature of the welding tip is mainly affected by two factors:
(1) The size and shape of the welding tip;
(2) Loss of welding tip and heating core.
1) The size and shape of the welding tip
The temperature of the tip will vary due to the shape of the tip, for example, the tip of Baiguang 900M series. If you use a 900M-T-B welding tip and replace it with a 900M-T-H welding tip, even if the set temperature remains the same, their actual temperatures will be different. According to measurements, their temperature difference can reach 20°C.
If the welding work requires frequent replacement of welding tips of different shapes, it is necessary to use a soldering iron with a calibration function and a welding tip thermometer. The method is to put the solder tip on the thermometer first, and then read the numbers on the display. If there is a deviation from the set temperature, you can use the correction function of the soldering iron to adjust the soldering temperature to be consistent with the set temperature.
2) Loss of welding tip and heating core
The heat of the welding tip comes from the heating core. If there is any obstacle in the heat transfer process, the temperature of the welding tip will drop. If the place where the heating core or the welding tip contacts is oxidized, the heat transfer efficiency will be reduced. Therefore, attention must be paid to the maintenance of the welding nozzle. In addition, the heat provided by each purchased heating core will have a slight deviation, so when the heating core is replaced, the temperature of the welding tip will also vary.
Since the heating core and welding tip will produce oxides after working for a period of time, the temperature of the welding tip will change, so in order to ensure that the temperature is still accurate for a long time, the temperature must be corrected regularly. When replacing the heating core or welding tip, due to the difference between the new and the old, in order to have an accurate temperature, it must also be calibrated.
2. The temperature precision or accuracy of the soldering iron: When calibrating the temperature of the soldering tip, it is generally corrected at a specific temperature, but if the temperature is adjusted to other temperatures after calibration, the temperature will deviate. The platform can keep this deviation within ±10°C.
