The working principle and usage method of gas electric soldering iron
Gas soldering iron (self heating soldering iron) uses the heat generated by the combustion of butane gas to heat the soldering iron head and complete welding work.
In addition, gas electric soldering irons can be used with hot air to melt plastic, shrink heat sleeves, and spray heaters, which can be used in many welding environments.
The butane gas produced by liquefied butane is sprayed out of the gas storage tank at high speed, and the flame generated after ignition is used for heating.
Note that it is not directly used to heat the soldering iron head (with low thermal efficiency), but rather to heat the porous ceramic matrix catalyst with a flame. When heated to red, a large amount of infrared radiation will be emitted to heat the soldering iron head (patented technology).
The gas electric soldering iron has high thermal efficiency, with a flame temperature of up to 1300 ℃. The temperature can be controlled by adjusting the size of the flame to keep it between 200 ° C and 500 ° C.
Usage method of gas electric soldering iron
When using a gas electric soldering iron, first rotate it to the right and turn on the gas source switch. You can hear the sound of gas flow and smell a little gas.
At this point, aim a lighter at the opening of the soldering iron head to ignite and observe carefully. Soon, the inside of the opening of the soldering iron head turns red and can be used.
The valve size of the soldering iron valve is adjusted to control the temperature of the soldering iron head. When adjusting the temperature, the temperature can be determined by observing the brightness of the opening of the soldering iron head.
When closing, there will be a certain delay in the valve and the flame will not immediately extinguish. Be careful not to adjust too much, otherwise it will be very dangerous. There is a small hole at the bottom of the soldering iron for refueling, which is the same as using a lighter for refueling.
Precautions for the use of gas electric soldering irons
The soldering iron head is a long-life soldering iron head made of pure copper as the substrate and processed with multiple layers of iron, chromium, and tin plating. It cannot be polished or changed in shape with a file.
There are multiple models of soldering iron heads in the attachment, which need to be selected according to the situation when purchasing. Due to the limited capacity of the gas storage tank, various preparations must be made before welding, and then the soldering iron can be ignited. Long term ignition without use is prohibited. Note that corrosive flux cannot be used in welding.
The heated soldering iron should not be placed directly on tables, plastic products, or other objects to avoid scalding them. Do not touch with your hands to avoid danger, and do not allow children to play nearby to avoid unnecessary harm.
After use, store the gas electric soldering iron after it cools down.
