Three sampling and detection methods that must be known for gas detectors

A gas detector is a hazardous gas protection device. It can detect the concentration of toxic and harmful substances in our work. When the gas concentration passes the safety line, an alarm will sound, effectively reminding the operator. The gas detector has three sampling and detection methods. Let's take a look together~

1. Diffusion sampling

The diffusion type gas detector slowly flows gas into the instrument through natural airflow, following the free flow of air, to obtain results.

The diffusion gas detector can detect whether there are toxic and harmful substances in the air in real-time and accurately. Diffusion gas detectors are typically used in open spaces, such as open work workshops. This method is influenced by environmental detection, such as environmental temperature, wind speed, etc. Due to the lack of an suction pump, the sampling speed of the diffusion gas detector is slow, and the detection results are easily affected by external factors such as wind speed and temperature in the detection environment, resulting in certain errors in the results.

2. Pump suction sampling

The pump suction gas detector is equipped with a micro suction pump, which is activated by the power supply to extract gas from the sampling point area, and then send the sample gas to the gas detector for detection.

Pumped gas detectors are generally suitable for places where some people are not suitable or easy to enter, or where detection must be carried out before operators enter. For example, in tunnels, pipelines, sewers, agricultural enclosed granaries, railway tank cars, tank bodies, etc., pump suction detectors can be installed on air pumps with long pipes for ventilation and remote suction sampling. The advantages of pumping gas detectors include fast detection speed, high accuracy, and the ability to measure remotely.

3. Pipeline sampling

In addition to diffusion and pump sampling, fixed gas detectors also have a pipeline sampling method.

The pipeline gas detector has a thread at one end of the probe. During installation, open an opening of the same size on the pipeline, and the probe is tightly connected to the pipeline without any air leakage. Thus achieving real-time detection inside the pipeline. The pipeline detector is suitable for environments with low pipeline flow rate and normal temperature and pressure.
