What are the differences between a flammable gas detector and a toxic gas detector?

Combustible gas detector is used to detect the concentration of single or multiple combustible gases. There are two types of combustible gas detectors: catalytic combustion type and infrared optical type. When combustible gas enters the sensor, its oxidation reaction (flameless combustion) is manifested on the surface of the platinum wire, and the heat causes the temperature of the platinum wire to rise, resulting in a change in the resistance of the platinum wire. The generated data is transmitted to the display panel.

Toxic gas detectors can be used for detecting toxic gas concentrations in the petroleum, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries to ensure the safety of workers!

There are three types of harmful gas detectors: basically using the principle of electrochemical detection. In addition, there are infrared optical type and infrared optical type PID photoionization type.

When toxic and harmful gases pass through the sensor, the sensor will change its concentration, and the generated data will be transmitted to the display panel.

Industrial sites and laboratories often use flammable and toxic gases. For the safety of workers and industrial sites, it is necessary for every worker to know how to distinguish between these two gas detectors and how to use them.

What are the common faults of gas detectors
Unable to display correctly
If a gas detector is used for a long time or not calibrated for a long time, the problem of reading errors may occur. We all know that gas detectors mainly detect through internal sensors, which have a certain lifespan. After a certain number of uses, the sensitivity of the sensor decreases, which affects the detection results. In addition, if calibration is not carried out for a long time, it will also affect the detection results.

The gas detector cannot inhale air
This type of problem mainly occurs in pump suction gas detectors. By using a small suction pump inside the detector to suck in gas for detection, if the suction pump is damaged or malfunctions, it will cause the gas detector to be unable to suck in. This problem is easy to solve by replacing the suction pump with a new one.
