What are the reasons why the soldering iron does not hang tin
1. The power of the electric soldering iron is too large
The power of the soldering iron tip ranges from 20W, 25W, to hundreds of watts. The manufacturing process of the external heating soldering iron is complex, low in efficiency, and high in price. The fast heating soldering iron is difficult to operate due to the large transformer in the hand; the internal heating soldering iron has a simple structure, high thermal efficiency, lightness and flexibility, and should be the first choice. It is used to decorate transistors, IC recorders, TV sets, and to do ordinary circuit experiments. Generally, 20W is suitable. For repairing vacuum tube machines, such as tube amplifiers and old instruments, 35W is suitable, and external heating is 45W. The wiring of the large transformer and the grounding trunk line on the metal base plate adopt the internal heating type of 50W and the external heating type of 75W. You can compare the power of the soldering iron tip you are using.
2. The quality of the soldering iron head is poor
There are some low-quality soldering iron tips on the market. If you accidentally buy them, it is easy to have the problem of tin hanging on the tip of the soldering iron.
Solution:
First prepare a blade and a new solder wire, which must contain additives. First heat the soldering iron, then unplug it, scrape off the position to be tinned with a blade, and fill it up with a new solder wire. It may still not be able to go up at the beginning. When the temperature is lowered to a suitable temperature, the solder will go up naturally. If it still doesn't work, repeat the process. If it really doesn't work, it means that your soldering iron tip contains too much tin, and the tin can't be applied. Try it with a magnet and you'll know.
3. The electric soldering iron is dry-burned for a long time
The soldering iron is not energized for a long time, and inferior solder and rosin are used, or the soldering tip is not tinned to protect the soldering tip before long-term storage, which causes the soldering tin layer of the soldering iron tip to fall off, resulting in the soldering tip not being tinned.
Solution:
(1) Remove the power supply, remove the soldering head while the soldering iron is cooling (note: disassemble lightly, do not fold the heating rod), and grind off the black non-hanging tin layer on the prepared 1000 mesh sandpaper, Of course, if the sandpaper is not easy to buy, the fine sand surface of the household whetstone can also be polished.
(2) Install the copper-colored welding head on the electric soldering iron, and plug in the power supply.
(3) When the temperature of the soldering iron tip is gradually heating up (note that at this time, do not dip the soldering tip with rosin and absorbent sponge), touch the soldering tip with a rosin-cored solder wire. From the beginning of non-melting to the temperature of the welding head gradually increasing, the solder wire gradually begins to melt. At this time, after touching the solder wire to the entire copper-colored surface of the soldering head, the solder can be hung.
(4) Dip the soldering head with the solder in the rosin, and then use it.
