What is a DC regulated power supply and its composition
An electronic device that can provide stable DC power to a load. The power supply of DC stabilized power supply is mostly AC power supply. When the voltage or load resistance of the AC power supply changes, the DC output voltage of the stabilizer will remain stable. With the development of electronic devices towards high precision, high stability, and high reliability, DC stabilized power supplies have put forward high requirements for the power supply of electronic devices.
Introduction to the composition of DC stabilized power supply
1. Power Transformer
Power transformer is a soft magnetic electromagnetic component that functions as power transmission, voltage conversion, and insulation isolation. It is widely used in power technology and power electronics technology.
2. Rectification circuit
A rectifying circuit is a circuit that converts alternating current energy into direct current energy. Most rectifier circuits consist of transformers, rectifier main circuits, and filters. It has been widely used in the fields of speed regulation of DC motors, excitation regulation of generators, electrolysis, electroplating, etc. The rectifier circuit usually consists of a main circuit, a filter, and a transformer. After the 1970s, the main circuit was mostly composed of silicon rectifier diodes and thyristors. The filter is connected between the main circuit and the load, used to filter out the AC component in the pulsating DC voltage. The setting of transformers depends on specific circumstances. The function of a transformer is to achieve the matching between the AC input voltage and the DC output voltage, as well as the electrical isolation between the AC power grid and the rectifier circuit.
The function of a rectifier circuit is to convert the low voltage AC power output by an AC voltage reduction circuit into unidirectional pulsating DC power. This is the rectification process of AC power, and the rectifier circuit is mainly composed of rectifier diodes. The voltage after rectification circuit is no longer AC voltage, but a mixed voltage containing DC voltage and AC voltage. It is commonly referred to as unidirectional pulsating DC voltage.
3. Filter circuit
Filter circuits are commonly used to filter out ripples in rectified output voltage, and are generally composed of reactive elements, such as parallel capacitors C across load resistors, or series inductors L with loads, as well as various complex filter circuits composed of capacitors and inductors.
4. Voltage stabilizing circuit
A voltage regulator circuit refers to a circuit that can maintain a constant output voltage even when there are changes in input voltage, load, ambient temperature, circuit parameters, etc. This circuit can provide stable DC power and is widely used in various electronic devices.
