Wisdom in infrared thermometers

The infrared thermometer is composed of optical system, photodetector, signal amplifier, signal processing, display and output and other parts. Studies have shown that any substance can radiate infrared rays as long as it has a certain temperature. The working principle of the infrared thermometer is: the optical system gathers the infrared radiation energy of the target in its field of view, and the infrared radiation energy is focused on the detector (sensor) and converted into a corresponding electrical signal. After the amplification circuit, compensation circuit and linear processing, the temperature of the measured object is displayed on the display terminal.

As a non-contact temperature measurement technology, infrared thermometer has the advantages of non-contact temperature measurement, fast response time, high sensitivity, wide temperature measurement range, fast capture of high temperature crowds, 24-hour automatic high temperature warning, etc. It is convenient, compact, portable and easy to operate, and can be used for various target temperature detection. In order to ensure the accuracy of temperature measurement, when selecting and using an infrared thermometer, it is necessary to understand its parameters and select products based on actual applications.

The temperature measurement range is an important performance index of the infrared thermometer. For example, the temperature range of temperature screening thermometer products is 32-45 degrees, and each type of infrared thermometer has its specific temperature range. Generally speaking, the narrower the temperature measurement range, the higher the resolution and accuracy of the temperature monitoring output signal, and the more accurate the temperature measurement. However, if the temperature measurement range is too narrow, the temperature measurement accuracy will be reduced and the error will be large.

The response time indicates the reaction speed of the infrared thermometer to the measured temperature change. According to the movement speed of the target and the temperature change speed of the target, for a gathering place with a large flow of people and frequent flow of people, a fast-response infrared thermometer should be selected.

The environmental conditions of the infrared thermometer have a great influence on the measurement results, which should be considered and properly resolved during the measurement, otherwise the measurement accuracy will be affected. At the same time, after using the thermometer for a period of time, use a little water or a clean cotton ball to wipe off the dust on the lens and clean the surface of the lens, otherwise the measured result will be lower than the actual temperature of the measured object.

At present, infrared temperature measurement technology is a very effective detection method for the current epidemic situation, and its application is also very extensive. In order to obtain accurate temperature measurement, it is necessary to select the correct type and combine the actual situation to find an infrared thermometer suitable for the environment in which it is used.
