Basic usage of multimeter - measurement of capacitance
Due to the different manufacturers, the structure of the digital multimeter is also slightly different. Some digital multimeters have sockets for measuring capacitance, while others do not.
It is relatively simple to use a digital multimeter with a capacitor socket to measure capacitance. Just turn the knob switch to F position, and then insert the capacitor to be measured directly into the capacitor socket to measure the value of the capacitance. For a digital multimeter without a capacitor socket, the method of measuring capacitance is similar to that of measuring resistance: first, insert the black test lead into the COM public port, and the red test lead into the VΩ HZ jack, then turn the knob switch to F position, and connect the test lead to the capacitor. On the two pins, read the value of the capacitor on the display. Capacitance can be measured without considering the polarity of the capacitor, but whether the capacitor is charged or not should not be ignored. Measuring the charged capacitor may burn out the multimeter, so the discharge operation should be performed before the measurement.
